Spring is near…
The county is posting COUNTY highway weight limits on Friday, March 6th at 3:00 pm. For questions on COUNTY highway postings and permits please see the Oconto County website (https://www.ocontocountywi.gov/) The Town of Doty will also post TOWN road weight limits at that time as well. Due to manpower limitations, the signs will start to go up on Thursday, March 5th, but will not be in effect until 3:00 pm on Friday, March 6th. For questions on TOWN roads, please contact: Randy Siewert 920-371-4194 or Andrew Stemp 608-772-6098. Permits to exceed the TOWN weight limits can also be obtained by calling the same people. If you anticipate needing a long term permit for TOWN roads, please contact us at the town hall for the form. Phone: 715-276-7554 or email clerk@townofdoty.wi.gov. It must be signed by a town supervisor to be valid. A one-time permit is also available.
Brushing has also started on Archibald Lake Rd. The town will be cleaning the cut materials later this spring, once the snow and ice melt. The trees that have been cut are the property of the land owner. If the landowner doesn’t want the cut trees, the town will remove / clean as needed.
